Join Velvet Klass for a workshop designed to tackle the impact of body image on athlete confidence, mental health and performance in footy. In this session, Velvet will delve into how body image issues uniquely affect athletes, particularly in the high-pressure world of sport and explore strategies to foster a supportive, body-positive environment both on and off the field.

With Velvet’s expertise in sport, health and women’s wellness, participants will learn how societal expectations, media portrayals and athletic stereotypes shape body image in footy.

Some things covered:

• Examine the unique body image pressures athletes face, like expectations for physique or strength and how these can lead to mental health challenges or affect team culture
• Practical tools for reframing negative body image thoughts
• Strategies for promoting body diversity, self-love and a supportive, body-positive culture within teams
• Real-life examples and ideas for coaches, parents and players to help create a more inclusive sports environment
