Rewriting the Rules for Female Athletes

Velvet Klass isn’t here to play by old rules, she’s here to rewrite them. A sports scientist, educator and coach with a PhD in menstrual health and performance, she’s dismantling outdated myths and arming female athletes with the knowledge to train smarter, compete harder and take control of their performance. No more guesswork - just science, strategy and a fierce commitment to levelling the playing field.

Velvet Klass

Starting her journey as a passionate athlete, Velvet Klass competed in sports like soccer, triathlon, and surf lifesaving before transitioning to the world of sports science. She completed a Bachelor of Sport, Health, and Physical Activity (Applied Sport Science Major) and deepened her passion for women’s health through research on menstrual health and its impact on performance, first in her honours and now in her PhD.

As an associate lecturer at Flinders University, Velvet has taught Sport & Exercise Science courses, developing a profound understanding of the human body and its functions in both health and performance. This expertise has allowed her to shape the next generation of health professionals and continually refine her ability to optimise athlete care.

Velvet is dedicated to educating female athletes and coaches on optimising health, wellness and performance. With a background in strength & conditioning coaching, she’s focused on breaking down barriers and advocating for the education and support female athletes need. Velvet aims to provide practical, science-based knowledge that directly enhances the way you support and coach female athletes, empowering them to reach their full potential.

When she’s not diving into research or training in the gym, you’ll find her advocating for equal opportunities for women in sport, both on and off the field.
