This workshop showcases the different defensive systems teams use within the AFL. It provides examples of how coaches have evolved and adapted over recent years. Using data, animation and examples from elite-level teams, we’ll examine the philosophies and strategies coaches have used to force turnovers across different areas of the ground.

Coaches will leave with a clearer understanding of how to design their defensive philosophy, develop teaching principles to coach the game and convert turnovers into possession chains.
