This workshop introduces coaches, students and emerging analysts to the fundamentals of breaking down match footage with clarity and purpose. Participants learn how to recognise trends, identify patterns and assess role execution across different situations, scenarios and phases of the game.
With a strong focus on behind-the-goals vision, the session shows you how to extract the structural and strategic information that can’t always be seen from broadcast angles. You’ll learn how to build teachable moments from vision, turning raw footage into meaningful insights that drive coaching, strategy and player development.
Across the workshop, we explore the intricacies of modern AFL game demands, understand what matters in the footage (why) and develop a repeatable framework to analyse skills, strategies and decision-making with confidence.
